Streams of Living Water
“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” – John 7:38
Jesus Calling: this is kind of a perfect name for a devotional. HE is always calling but in our busy lives, we don’t take time out to still ourselves and listen. We stray far from His love, comfort, protection, and direction . . . yet He is always wooing us . . . our tender Father.
“Bring Me the sacrifice of your time; a most precious commodity. In this action-addicted world, few of My children take time to sit quietly in My Presence. But for those who do, blessings flow like streams of living water. I, the One from whom all blessings flow, am also blessed by our time together. This is a deep mystery; do not try to fathom it. Instead, glorify Me by delighting in Me. Enjoy Me now and forever.” – Sarah Young (Jesus Calling)
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not accuse, nor will He harbor His anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” – Psalm 103: 8-12 (Also see Psalm 21:6, John 7:38, and Psalm 103:11.)
Let us be thankful for all He does for us – especially when He is working in the background for our good and He isn’t yet ready to reveal His plans for us. When we are grateful, we can see the heart of God so much more, and we are able to see Him everywhere. Amen.
