Parched
We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Eph. 2:10
“Seasons of life can sometimes lead to an enormously desolate place. Your compass can break, and your hope can get sapped down to its last drop. But when you call upon the Lord and ask for His help, He hears. He promises to lead and guide you in the way you should go. Even better, He will give you nourishment and strength for your body, and peace to satisfy your dry, parched soul. So call on Him, look to Him; He is able and willing to bring you out of any barren wilderness. Keep your eyes on Him and believe in His goodness for you.” (100 Days of Bible Promises by Shanna Noel)
“The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”- Isa. 58:11
Living in the dry, and yes, quite sun-scorched land, doesn’t have to mean actually living in a desert (although I sure can relate . . .) You can be surrounded by tall, lush green trees, golf course grass, or forests and mountains and still be parched; for what only He has to offer and what you so desperately need, but aren’t aware of. You are running on empty and dried up, and grabbing at straws, but the world’s glass is empty no matter how often you drink from it.
Father, we call upon You, and ask for Your presence in our lives. Please bring us comfort and peace, and guide us in the way we should go. (And without a doubt, help us to KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS!!) Amen!
