He Saw it All
I have gotten into the habit of crawling into bed at night, and turning the TV on. It’s not to watch some sitcom, but to see and hear good old gospel music. I watch some of the older Gaither Homecoming series, the Heritage Singers, and a special group whose name is The Booth Brothers. When I don’t sound like a bullfrog, like I currently do from a bad cold, I sing along with them. Music stirs my soul, always has and always will.
There’s one song they sing, that I finally got the message of the song – and I really like it!
I was working in town one afternoon, attending some business affairs.
I heard a commotion a couple of streets over and wondered what was happening there.
A young man was running from in that direction and stopped just to catch his breath.
I asked him to please tell me what was the hurry. He smiled up at me and he said,
“I was trying to catch the crippled man, did he run past this way?
He was rushing home to tell everybody what Jesus did today.
And the mute man was telling myself and the deaf girl
that he was leaving to answer God’s call.”
Fascinating message in that song! Jesus cared enough to heal and to call who is healed to follow Him. Just now I have a precious friend in the hospital (ICU). She is existing on a respirator, IV’s running with meds. She has a faulty heart valve, and doctors are waiting until she is able to transferred to a Heart Hospital for surgery. She has a 90-year-old mother, who lives with a son who’s had a stroke. They are really hurting.
What Jesus did when He was here on earth, He is just as competent at healing today! I pray for the three of them a whole lot. Another friend has struggled with cancer for several years.
Will you add your prayers to mine for these special, God-fearing folk? Thank you!
